Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog!
In todays post I wanted to show you how you can create a very simple card simply using DSP to make a pattern. What I love about this card is that the design alone is enough so you can get away with not putting a sentiment on the front. This means you can fill out the inside and use it for pretty much any occasion.
Once you have the technique to do this you could make up so many different ones in no time! You can mix designs from different collections to get very cool patterns. I love how the brown pops in some of the ones I made.
If you want to find out how you can make your own then please keep reading.
Steps:
1) For the card base you will need a piece of yardstick
2) Cut two other piece of card, one a different colour to your card base 4" x 4" and one the same colour 3 3/4" x 3/4"
3) Adhere your smaller sqaure to the bigger one
4) Cut a third piece of card to 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and mark the center points on the top and bottom as shown below
5) Cut a piece of DSP 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and attach to the piece from the previous step but turn so two corners opposite each other line up with the center marks you made
6) Cut two piece of DSP (different to the one perviously used) to 1 /14" x 1/4" and adhere to the other DSP and the top and bottom
7) You will then need four other piece the same size (1 1/4" sqaures) but two of each of the same design
8) Cut these four pieces of DSP in half corner to corner
You should have eight triangles
9) Adhere the triangles as shown the pictures below. I would recommend laying them out first to see what you like best before permanently sticking them down
10) Stick your patterned sqaure onto your layered square
11) Then finally adhere to your card base and your are done!
You can see other designs I came up with below!
I really hope you enjoyed this post! I love this idea and if you are someone who gives out a lot of cards or even want to make up a lot of cards (like thank you cards) then this is perfect for you!
Let us know what else you'd like to see on the blog.
Happy crafting!
