Flat Fold Box - Step By Step Tutorial

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to show a quick tutorial on how you can make this adorable box!

It's so simple to make and one of the very cool features about this box is the fact it folds flat. This would be an ideal little gift to send someone as you wouldn't have to worry about bulky post! You could make up a load of these and not have to worry about them taking up a lot of space!

It's also perfect to hold some small cards. You could create a set with the same colour scheme but different occasions. As you know I love making boxes and the more you know how to make, the more you can accommodate for.

If you want to find out how to make it then just keep reading.

What you will need:
- Piece of card stock cut to 9 1/2" x 7 1/4"
- Five pieces of DSP, 3 1/8" x 3 3/8" & 3 1/8" x 3/4" (x2) & 3 3/8" x 3/4" (x2)
- Acetate cut to 3" x 3"
- Adhesive

Steps:

1) Cut a piece of card stock to 9 1/2" x 7 1/4". Score on the long side first at 1", 4 1/2", 5 1/2" and 9". Turn 90 degrees anti clockwise so the 9" score line is at the top and score on the short side at 3/4", 1 3/4", 5 1/2" and 6 1/2"

2) With you 1" scoreline at the bottom and your 9" at the top you need to start cutting off some squares and rectangles. The two squares on the bottom left and right, the four on the top left and right (next to each other), the two longer rectangles directly below and finally the small rectangle on each side below. See the picture below for reference

3) You should be left with something like the picture below. You will have four squares left which you need to cut into and notch in slightly.

4) Adhere a piece of dsp, 3 1/8" x 3 3/8" to the centre of the large square above your 1" scoreline. Using whatever shape you want cut out your window. I used a square from a Stampin' up die set.

5) Using the same size die as you did in the previous step and the next size up, cut out a frame in the same colour as your card stock

6) Stick your frame around your window. Also cut a piece of acetate to 3" x 3" and stick to the underside of your window

7) To add a bit more decoration to your box you can also add a few more piece of dsp. There are four rectangles around your window which will be around the box when it is put together. You will need two pieces cut to 3 1/8" x 3/4" and two at 3 3/8" x 3/4". Just simply stick them down matching whether it is the longer/shorter side

8) Place some sticky strip on the small tab sticking on the other side of the fox and fold in half to put together.

9) Simply put in the two sides and you are done!

I really hope you enjoyed this quick post!
