Caramel Filled Chocolates - #BakingWithSukilu

Hey everyone and welcome to another baking post!

I absolutely love doing these kinds of post. I have always stuck to desert based foods but I am hoping to share with you some of my favourite breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes! I actually tend to eat healthy and some of the meals we have discovered I think you would all love!

In todays tutorial I wanted to share with you how you can create you own caramel filled chocolates. Now I will say that the way mine turned out I feel they actually taste like a butter fugde and I love it! Many of these have disappeared already today.

I ended up making two batches of these as I wanted to see what is easier and create a more appealing finish. Stay tuned to end of this post and I will share what changes I made with my second batch.

Don't they just look absolutely delicious!

Embossed Vallum Happy Birthday Card - Step By Step Tutorial

Hey everyone and welcome to another step by step card tutorial! It feels like it's been forever since I have done one of these.

I love getting inspiration from magazines for new card ideas and I thought I would share one with you today. It's a very simple card to make and there are so many ways you could play around and change it.

I love the look of embossed vellum and layering different shapes together to get different looks. The card looks like it incorporates a lot of different items but it's actually fewer than it looks.

If you want to find out how to make this card then just keep reading.

Wine Bottle Sleeve - Step By Step Tutorial

Hey everyone! I can't believe how long it's been since we put up a post here on the blog!

How was everyone's Christmas and New Year? I went by so fast for me and my family it feels like it never happened.

We wanted to take a sort break from putting posts so we could make the most of the whole family being together (my youngest daughter was back from University) and we had a lot of chats about where we want to take the blog this year. Lot's of exciting thing's planned. Also, if you have been following since before christmas we mentioned about a giveaway we have been planning to do. We still completely plan on doing the giveaway we are just finishing up a few bits for it. We have most of the products sitting in the craft room waiting to be boxed up but we wanted to add as much as we can to it! Make sure you stay tuned so you don't miss out.

So in today's post I wanted to share with you a cute way to wrap up a wine bottle to give to a friend or family as a gift! This could also work with non-alcoholic wine or any other bottle in a similar shape!

It's so easy to do and you can easily adjust the sizes if you need to.

Make Your Own Erin Condren Planner Cover - Fridays With Danielle

Hi everyone!

So I've been into planning for quite some time now and I really envy you planner girls who have ring bound planner such as the Kikki K or Filofax! I love how much you can customise you planners with different dashboards, inserts, dividers and the large pocket space you have to fill with planer goodies.

I've had my Erin Condren for a while now and I decided to try and customise it in whatever ways I can. I have seen people making their own covers for it so I decided to give it a go.

I love how it turned out and I feel its much more my style! It was so easy to do but I will say the one thing I learnt was you need to have decent quality laminating pouches. Although it did still work out for me using low quality pouches (they came free with the laminator) it's not extremely sturdy!

Washi Tape Holder - Step by Step Tutorial

Hey everyone!

I’ve got another step by step tutorial today for you. I saw Sam from Pootles Papercraft make these washi tape holders and I immediately wanted to make a few for myself. I have accumulated quite a few washi tapes these last couple of month and my organisation for them makes it difficult for me to use them all.

This holder is perfect for sorting out large amount of washi in a way that’s practical in terms of space but also allows you to see them all. You should definitely check out Sam’s youtube channel. I abolsutely love watching her videos, she has so many great tutorials and is all round a pleasure to watch! You can find her youtube channel here.

How To Make Your Own Paperdori - Fridays With Danielle

Hi everyone!

If you've been reading my posts since I started doing posts on her you may know I have been very interested in the Midori world. I have seen to many videos on youtube and pictures on Instagram of people using midoris and travellers notebook in such creative ways.

I have a couple of Foxydori's - shop here -  on my christmas wish list but I really wanted to try and make my own. I had a browse online of anywhere I could get my hands on some faux leather or PVC material but being an impatient person I decided to give a go with paper.

If you aren't familiar with Midori's check out this awesome video by the Reset Girl here. She goes in-depth about sizes, where you can purchase them from and the accessories you get for them.

It was actually a lot easier than I thought to make and I also liked the fact I could add a bit colour to it by using patterned paper.

£1 October Listers Gotta List Set Up! - Fridays With Danielle

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share tonights post with you because I feel this will help so many people.

If you follow a lot of planner girls on instragram you may have noticed a few doing the #ListersGottaList challenge hosted by The Reset Girl. It's an amazing challenge! You basically get a prompt for each day of the month and you create the list based on the prompt. There is room for adapting the prompts to suit you better if needed. There is also some for younger people. If you want to find out more information about this head on over to http://listersgottalist.com. It's completely free to take part.

I have seen this challenge for months and have always wanted to participate but struggled. I found it so difficult to find the method to record my lists and also the time to do each list. I knew I wanted to do a fair amount of decorating but also making sure I don't overwhelm myself. Looking at all the other lists people had created I was so inspired to find the right method for me to take part in the challenge and I now feel so confident about it!

The Importance of a Brain Dump! - Fridays With Danielle

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another post with myself, Danielle. I can't believe it's Friday already!

I wanted to do a post explaining what I feel is the importance of a brain dump. I have been using it now for around a month and I can honestly say it has helped me out so much! A brain dump is essentially a place where you store any ideas, things you want to remember, basically anything that comes to your mind and you want to be able to record it.

The thing I love about a brain dump is that it can be as messy as you want it to be. You can slap on a load of sticky notes or just write directly on the page. It doesn't have to be this beautiful decorated or organised place. As long as you can decipher it all, its fine! I did decorate the front of mine though. How can I not?!

Stitched TN Insert & What We Won! - Fridays with Danielle

Hey everyone!

I recently was asked by my aunt to make her a travellers notebook insert because she had seen a few other I had done. I was more than happy to do that for her and I wanted to show you my new method of making them. If you want to see one I made for my niece then check out this post here.

I have discovered an easy method of binding the book I make which obviously keeps the paper from the falling out. It also gives me a lot more room to decorate exactly how I want! If you've been reading my post for a while you will know how much of a fan I am of Cori @ The Reset Girl. I've seen multiple videos of her where she decorates inserts and it's definitely one of my favourite things to do now!

Also you may not one but we won a giveaway on Instagram! Stay to the end of the post if you want a little look at what won.

Here how I make my inserts now.

All About Inspiration and Motivation! - Fridays With Danielle

Hello everyone!!

I wanted to do a slightly chatty post this evening as in the last few weeks I have felt this sudden inspiration and motivation to be really creative and productive with my crafting. When I first discovered the planning and scrapbooking world I have to admit I was slightly overwhelmed. I really wanted to be a part of it so I just dipped my toe in by getting my first planner.

Since getting my Erin Condren Life Planner I discovered a complete world filled with a huge amount of different planners, scrapbooking elements, journalling and so many more things. I was so in love with each and everything I saw but I didn't feel I could find my own style. There are so many amazing planner girls out there on youtube, Instagram and other platforms I just felt I didn't even know where to begin.

Favourite Crafting Storage Solutions - Fridays With Danielle

Hello everyone!

Hope you have all had a fabulous week and are ready for the weekend.

In todays post I wanted to show you a few storage solution, and one travelling solution I have come up since I begun crafting. If you are a fellow crafter, even a beginner, you may know the stuggle of having millions of different washi tapes, stamps, paper etc. Storing them can you a complete nightmare as you want to use everything you own!

I feel have a come up with a few different solutions which have made a huge difference for me.

The first thing I did was purchase a plastic cutlery tray from Ikea. You can buy these from a variety of different shops and they are usually really inexpensive! I use this to store my washi tape as I can easily get use out of all them now because I can see them. Its the perfect size and at the moment there is also room for quite a few other essentials!

Do you ever such sit and stare at your washi? I love mine.

The next solution isn't exactly a genius idea but one that I am pretty happy with. Susan was playing around with ideas and made a hexagon box with a lid. What she didn't realise is that she had actually made the perfect pen holder. The shape of the box allows the pens to spread more, this means I can easily find the pen I am looking for!

The lid is also ideal for storing little bits and pieces. Would you like a tutorial on it?

I had some of these boxes from Ikea - here - that came in three different sizes and never really found functional uses for them. Until now! The smallest of the three sizes is perfect for storing store bought stickers. I also put some loose journalling cards and sticky tapes at the front.

Finally I just wanted to mention a quick travelling solution I use as I regularly go backwards and forwards with me supplies. I love using die cuts to embelish my projects - like the travellers notebooks I like to make. Travelling with them however are difficult as once they are open from the pack they go everywhere! I just use a clear small makeup bag that I got my local highstreet/drugstore.

So there you have it! Hopefully one of you will get some ideas from this on what could help you. What your favourite crafting storage solution?

Thanks so much for checking out my post!

Planner Update - Thursday With Danielle?!

Hi everyone!

I am terribly sorry about not posting last week but I was extremely ill!

I wanted to put up an extra quick post though to make up for it.

One of my favourite things to do is watch planner videos on youtube - plan with me, planner updates, sticker hauls - you name it! I thought it would be fun to do a planner update myself and show you how my spreads have been looking since I changed up my self style drastically in August.

If you want to see my original review then check out this post here and past spreads then check out this post here.

How I Use My Happy Planner & Overview - Fridays With Danielle

Hi guys!

So a last week I posted a haul from an online shop I had recently made some purchases and the one of things featured was the Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner. Check out my haul here.

I've seen this planner so much on social media sites and was interested by it, particularly the way its bound, but it seemed to be impossible to purchase it without having to pay a load in shipping fees.

I couldn't believe it when I found it on Hey Little Magpie for only £24.99!

The reason I bought this wasn't for the reason most people get it. If you read my previous posts you will know I have an Erin Condren Life Planner which I use for everyday planning and I love it. It's already so full with personal things and also Sukilu Crafts related things I couldn't seem to find the room to record anything fitness related.

I'm on a bit of a mission at the moment to get myself healthy and in shape and I wanted a way to record my progress, plan out my workouts and just generally keep me motivated. After seeing the layout of this planner on youtube I thought it would be perfect and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get it!

In this post I wanted to explain exactly how I'm turning this into my fitness planner and also a little overall review on how I feel about this planner as a whole!

£50 Hey Little Magpie Haul! - Fridays With Danielle

Hey guys. I think this is the most excited I have ever been about putting up a post!

Ever since I started crafting I haven't really shopped at a huge amount of places. Personally for me and what my style is I couldn't walk into a shop and come out with a lot of items because I found it difficult to find the things I want. Not that I won't continue to shop in them!

I started trying to find some online crafting suppliers to see if there was any that stood out to me and that I could find the products that I really wanted. I love anything planner, scrapbooking or journalling related so I really wanted to get some cute paper, washi tapes and any other stationary I could get my hands on.

By luck - completely and utterly amazing luck - I came across a site called Hey Little Magpie. I will say now that I can't help at time judge a website by how it looks and how easy it is to use before I even look at the products - anyone else do that? I have to say this website was extremely easy to use and I thought the graphics were cute.

After looking on the website for a bit I found a particular product that I have been wanting to get my hands on for ages and I hadn't found a UK supplier for it! Stay until the end of this post to find out what it is. This sparked this whole haul but even if I wouldn't have found it I still would have purchased everything else.

I checked out shipping prices and it was very reasonably priced so I splurged a bit. I decided to spend over the £50 mark as I got free shipping. They do ship internationally - you can find prices on the site. I ordered mine on Friday 7th August at nearly 4PM and it arrived on Tuesday 11th August before 10AM.

Disclaimer: everything in this haul was purchased by me with my own money, nobody asked me to shop there or asked me to do this post. I was very impressed with the shop as a whole and I definitely feel other people will love it!

Check it out here www.heylittlemagpie.com

Enough rambling! If you want to find out what I got then just keep reading. I will link everything below so you can find them on the website.

Travellers Style Notebook - Fridays With Danielle

Hey guys!! I am so happy to be doing another post!

I had made some small travellers notebook inspired books for me and my daughter - Brooke - to do The Reset Girls #ListerGottaList challenge and I was looking for an excuse to make another one because I have been majorly hoarding paper - especially 12" x 12".

I was showing my 6 year old niece - Ellie and she absolutely loved them! My sister lives very close by to me so I get to spend a lot of time with my niece. Her and Brooke love each other and play together loads - it's so sweet!

I decided to make one for Ellie so she could use it as a sort of diary and put stickers all over it. She is obsessed with stickers!!

We went through my paper and she chose the one she loved then the rest will be a complete surprise for her!

I love the one's I had made for me and Brooke but I wanted to do something slightly different for Ellie. I attached a Heidi Swapp clip from a pack I had purchased from TK Max!

How I use my Erin Condren Life Planner! - Fridays With Danielle

Hey everyone! It's time for another Friday's with Danielle post!

Last week I showed you my Erin Condren life planner and told you how I felt about it. If you want to check out that post you can find it here.

In todays post I thought it would be helpful to some people to show exactly how I use it. When I intially bought it I had a rough idea of how I was going to use it but I knew it would take me a few weeks to be completely happy with it!

I will explain how I changed and adapted things throughout the post. The pictures will be bigger than normal in comparison to other Sukilu Crafts post but I felt it would be easier for you to see what I'm talking about.

Please excuse my awful handwriting! Also anything covered up with post-it's in my weekly spread are just for privacy reasons.

Erin Condren Life Planner Review & Unboxing - Fridays with Danielle

Hello everyone! Danielle here. I'm so excited to be doing a post on my mum's blog and share with you some tips of my own.

As most of you will know from a post on Sukilu Crafts last Friday I have been part of this blog since it begun in April. I have been a huge fan of the blogging and the youtube world for around 9 years now but have always put off starting one of my own. Then in 2012 I became a mum myself and pretty much put it the back of my mind completely. When my mum had mentioned about starting a blog of her own I immediately offered my full help and support and since then we have spent a huge amount of time together building this website. I originally intended to take care of the technical side of Sukilu Crafts but the more time I spent watching my mum craft and her showing me what other people had done the more interested I become.

As time went on the one thing we found difficult was organising things Sukilu Crafts related such as what posts would go up when, when a new project would be started, what social media platform needed more attention etc. I came across a video by the very gorgeous Elle Fowler - otherwise known as AllThatGlitters21 that was a life saver! It was a video she had some all about her Erin Condren planner. You can watch the video here. Straight away I fell in love and started to look more into the planning world. It's safe to say I became obsessed. This was before the new EC planner had been released but I knew I had to have one. I felt it would be perfect to help out with this blog and also other personal things for myself.
