Hey everyone! Welcome to another post on our blog!
Today I wanted to share with you another technique which is fun and I think you will really enjoy it.
I have done a few techniques on my blog before. I love how you can use your crafting supplies for more than they are intended for and there are so many possibilities with what you can do.
The technique I will show you today is how you can achieve a cloudy-like sky. I think it looks pretty realistic and you can use it for many things. Creating a scene on a card, some decoration for journalling or some DIY artwork for around your house.
You will only need a few things for you so just keep reading!
Steps:
1) The first thing you need to do is draw, freehand, a few clouds onto a piece of card stock. They have to do neat or completely perfect but just try to make them fairly different from each other. You will then need to fussy cut them out
2) Place a piece of scrap down and your paper you will doing the technique on - preferably white. Take a sponge (I actually cut up a baby sponge into triangles for this) and dab it into your ink. Layer two or even just one of your clouds onto the card stock. Rub off most of your ink onto the scrap piece and then gently start dabbing your sponge above the clouds
The fun thing about this technique is there is no need for perfection. The sky doesn't always have perfect blocks of colours to it especially when its cloudy. You can make your ink as pigmented as you would like
You can see the general shape forming already
3) Grab some more of your clouds or you could even just move around the clouds you already used. Repeat the second step. You want to make sure you don't go too far up the clouds above that you have already made
4) Keep repeating until you have the desired effect. I personally want to keep trying this method and try moving the clouds in different ways to see how it changes the overall picture
I really hope you enjoyed this post! I love trying new and fun techniques. Let me know in the comments below if you have any you love to do.
