Four Notelets with Matching Gift Box Envelope - Step by Step Tutorial

Hello :)

In today's tutorial I am going to show you, step-by-step, how to make these cute little cards.

These cards are perfect for any occasion and you can also make a matching gift box envelope which makes for a perfect present for someone who loves homemade things.

For this tutorial I will be showing you how to make the orange card. If you want to find out what colours I used to make the others read to the end of this post.

Hope you enjoy!

What you will need:
- Thick card stock 8" x 4"
- Thick card stock 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
-  Large corner rounder
- Big Shot
- Flower dies (in this tutorial I am using the ones that came free with my big shot, you can use any two you like)
- Embossing folder (I used a cuttlebug one, unfortunately I don't know the name but it was a small flower pattern, you may use any pattern you like)
- Stampin Up DSP Brights Collection paper (I used "Pumpkin Pie")
- Stampin Up square die 1-1/8"
- Ink (I used Stampin Up "Pumpkin Pie")
- Sponge for ink
- Tape glider or sticky strips
- Small circle punch 1/2" (Hobbycraft)
- Scrap white card stock (Not pictured)
- A paper cutter
- Liquid glue (I used Tombow liquid glue from Stampin Up)

Steps

1) Cut a piece of thick white card stock to 8" x 4". Fold in half so you have 4" x 4" card

2) Using the corner rounder, round the top and bottom corner on the right side only

3) Cut another piece of this white card stock to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and repeat step 2. This will be your front layer piece.

4) Place the front layer piece in the cuttlebug embossing folder. This will now go through to big shot between two sandwich plates on the bottom tab

5) Now with the white scrap piece of card stock place the two flower dies on it and put through the big shot. This time still in sandwich plates but on tab 2. (TIP: use washie tape to keep the dies secure on the card and stop them from sliding off)

6) Take the Stampin Up dsp brights collection paper in "pumpkin spice" and cut a square in the corner. This does not have to neat, it is only important that its big enough to cute four small squares with the square die

7) Using the square die put this through the big shot on tab 2 until you have four small squares

8) Use the scrap paper left from step 7 to punch a small circle using the small circle punch

9) Round off two corners from all four squares from step 7 - the opposite corners. These will be your petals

10) Take the piece of card from step one and lightly sponge the edges with the "pumpkin pie" ink. This is only a very subtle effect. (TIP: dab of excess ink onto a piece of scrap paper to avoid a heavy application)

11) Lightly sponge front layer piece all over

12) Stick front layer piece onto card, ensure the rounded edges match up

13) Lay petals on card - pointed edges facing inwards towards each other - and stick down. (TIP: try laying them down first in the position you want before permanently sticking down. This can be tricky so take your time to make sure they are centered, once you have stuck one down you will easily be able to get the rest down nice and straight)

14) Lightly sponge flower cut outs from step 5

15) Use a paintbrush or pencil to break up the fibres in the paper of the flowers to give more a 3D effect. This is optional. Technique; go around the edges of roll up the ends.

16) Stick the fuller flower down in the centre of the petals. I used liquid glue for this

17) Stick the small flower in the centre of the fuller flower

18) Stick the circle from step eight in the centre of the flower to complete

You have now completed your card! I loved making this card as I can give it to wide range of people and I can customise the inside for any occasion.

If you would like to make the pink one use the exact same products just use "melon mambo" ink and paper, for green use "old olive" and for blue use "tempting turquioes."

I hope you enjoyed this step-by-step tutorial and remember, you do not have to use the exact same products I did, you can experiment with different patterns, shapes and colours.
