Homemade Cinnamon Rolls - #BakingWithSukilu

Hey everyone and welcome to another baking post!

In today's tutorial we will show you how you can make your own cinnamon rolls! I have been browsing the internet for another perfect recipe to share with you and this one stood out. They are perfect treat for you and your friends or family and they are easy to make.

You could replace the cinnamon with another flavouring if it's not to your fancy but I recommend you all try this. This one takes a bit longer than your standard cake but only for having to wait an hour at one point!

If you want to find out how to make your own then just keep reading.

Steps:

1) In one bowl put 440g (3 1/2 cups) of flour and in another place 30g of light brown sugar. You will also need 5g of salt

2) Combine all the dry ingredients

3) In a small bowl or cup add 2 1/4 teaspoon of action dry yeast (or 25g of fresh yeast if you can get it) and add 5g of light brown sugar to it

4) Add 80ml (1/3 cup) of lukewarm milk and stir until the yeast have dissolved

5) Add your yeast mixture to your dry ingredients along with two eggs

6) Add 160ml (2/3 cup) of lukewarm water to the mixture

7) Stir mixture and begin kneading with your hands. Add 56g (4 tablespoons) of melted butter) and continue kneading. You want the dough to be soft but have some stickiness to it. It should also be elastic and pull away from the bowl. You can add extra flour throughout if you feel the dough it too soft but don't add anymore than 63g (1/2 cup)

8) Set your mixture aside for ten minutes

9) Whilst your dough is resting you can weigh out your ingredients for the cinnamon filling. You will need 70g (5 tablespoons) of room temp butter, 100g (1/2 cup) of light brown sugar and 13g (2 tablespoons) of ground cinnamon

10) Combine all the ingredients and mix well

11) Once your dough has rested dough flour on your surface and roll out your dough to create a 12" x 18" rectangle

12) Spread your cinnamon filling evenly over your dough

13) Gently roll your dough and use some water to seal the edge

14) Cut off the ends or your roll and cut the remaining part into 12 equal pieces

15) Place your rolls onto a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Make sure they aren't touching each other. Cover with some cling film, if it touches the top of the rolls apply some butter or oil to grease. Put your rolls in a warm place for about an hour. They should double in size. I put my over on a low heat for around ten minutes and then turned it off to create a warm space

16) After the hour is up place your rolls into a preheated over at 180 degree celsius (350 degrees fahrenheit) for arounf 15-20 minutes until they have turned golden brown

17) Once your rolls have cooled you can create a vanilla iced to spread on top. Simply add in a bowl 1 cup of icing sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir well and taste to test it. Add more vanilla extract if needed

18) Drizzle icing mixture over your cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

There may be a lot of step to this particular baking post but it's definitely worth it in the end.
