Aurora Borealis Card Part 2 - #24DaysOfBlogmas Day 23

Hey everyone and welcome to the last tutorial post of #blogmas!

I can't believe we started this nearly a month ago. It's gone by so quick and it's been such an enjoyable experience. I really hope you have all enjoyed it!

If you saw last posts - here - you will have seen me show you how you can create an aurora borealis scene with inks! Now in this post I will show you how you can put it together in a card/

I created a very simple card to show how effective the aurora borealis sky is! You will easily be able to re-create this card with limited supplies.

If you want to find out how to make this card then just keep reading.

Steps:

1) Cut two piece of card stock to 6" x 5 1/2". Score the long side at 1/2" and 5 1/2" and turn over and score on the back (long side again) at 1" and 5". Fold and burnish the scorelines so the middle two pop out towards you

2) Cut a piece of DSP to 4" x 5 1/2" and attach it to one of the cards in the centre. Stick it to the side where the centre bit pop outs out towards you

3) Using a square die, cut out a window - more towards the top. Mine was about a 3" square

4) Using a scrap piece of card cut out a frame for your window using the same size die from the previous step and the next size up. Using the piece from the centre of the frame cut two 1/4" strips. On one of the strip cut 1/4" off one end then cut in half. You should have one long piece and two longer pieces

5) Stick a piece of acetate behind the window. Mine was a 3 1/2" square. Then stick your frame and create a window like shape with your three strips from the previous step

6) For this step I used an embossing folder to cut a skyline shape to fussy cut but you could print a stencil off your computer to draw one. Trim so it fits on the inside of your other piece of card (without your window)

7) On your other card cut your aurora borealis sky scene to it fits into the other piece of card (as shown below) and stick your skyline onto the bottom

8) Stick your two piece of card together, they will be the opposite way

I hope you enjoyed this post! I still can't believe how quick the last 24 days have gone. I am so looking forward to event coming up this month in my personal life. A family wedding, my daughter coming home from Uni for a whole month and of course Christmas with my family!
