Decorate Gift Tag - #24DaysOfBlogmas Day 5

Hey everyone and welcome to day 5 of #blogmas! I feel like the first four posts have just flown by.

How have you been enjoying it all so far? Let us know if there is anything you would like to see.

Today I wanted to show you another way you can create a cute gift tag. This is more decoration a ready made one than actually making it but you could definitely do one from scratch.

I think little touches here and there on my project can make the biggest different. I also think it's nice to create a special label if you have one present that is considering more main than the rest to put it on. Make's it stand out a lot more!

If you want to find out how I decorated my gift tag then just keep reading!

Steps:

1) You will need to start off with a plain gift tag, you can purchase these from pretty much any craft supplier. Cover one side with some dsp and punch out the hole

2) Cover the other side with a different (maybe even contrasting) dsp and again punch the hole. It's generally a 1/8" hole

3) Cut out a label shape with some cream or white scraps and create a frame with a different colour. To create a frame you just need to use the same size and the next size down. If you want a thicker frame you would go two sizes down. Be sure to consider what colour your frame will be as it might effect what side of the tag you will put it on

4) Stamp a sentiment on a scrap piece of card or paper and punch it out. Attach to your gift tag

5) Attach a piece of ribbon or string. I also added a bell to mine

6) And finally to finish off I added a wood snowflake

Something extremely simple but a nice way to use up some scraps and can add a nice touch to your gifts. I think this would look pretty cool attached to a handmade gift bag.

Some of the posts during #Blogmas will be pretty quick and simple tutorials or tips but I know that a lot of times during Christmas you may have little time to get things done.
